We do hope that you'll stick around with us, but we also understand that users may want to cancel their subscriptions for a variety of reasons. To cancel your lifetime membership, you must send us a chat or email, and we will take care of the process from there.

To cancel your monthly* membership, you can go to Settings from your dashboard, and click Cancel Subscription. If you are within your 30-day refund window and you have a monthly membership, please chat or email us to start the refund process. No refunds can be processed without contacting Support.

If you are on the fence about canceling, check out some solutions to common problems we hear about when people want to cancel their memberships:

You don't have time to use the site - It might take some time to get your profile just right and build a full portfolio, but the beauty of Writers Work is that you can go at your own pace and choose jobs with more flexible schedules. You can also reduce time you spend hunting for jobs using the Writers Marketplace feature, which will allow potential clients and employers to reach out to you with writing gigs.

You aren't finding any jobs - Remember, we're adding new job postings every day, so if you don't see what you're looking for today, it could easily be there tomorrow. You can also use our job filters to search by keyword, job duration, and more. Better yet, you can save your filters and get notifications when jobs you're most interested in become available.

Also keep in mind that the Jobs listing is just one of three ways to find work on the site. Don't forget to check out the Writers Marketplace and Submissions!

You are not an experienced writer - Everyone starts somewhere, and Writers Work is not just for experienced writers. Newcomers can find helpful resources for building a freelance writing career in our University Library, and the Submissions index is a great place to find publications who accept unsolicited content. When applying for jobs, you may also be able to side-step the experience requirements by having a strong portfolio that showcases your ability to write.

Remember--the only way to gain experience is to get started!

If you need any additional help using all the features that Writers Work has to offer or have additional support questions, email us any time at [email protected] or click the chat bubble at the bottom right to talk to our support staff during business hours.

*Prior to December 2023, Writers Work had two membership options: a monthly subscription and a lifetime membership. Now, however, the lifetime membership is the only available option. Existing monthly subscribers will see no change in their account status or billing.
